This article explains how the search within document content works, allowing you to quickly and efficiently locate information in PDFs and DOCX files, including scanned documents.
💡 What is this feature?
The search within document content is an enhancement implemented in Q2 2025 that allows users to find information beyond the structured contract data. This feature is available for documents in PDF (including scanned) and DOCX formats.
🛠️ How does the feature work?
The content search will be available in the environment if the corresponding key appears in the search tool. To use it, simply activate the key and enter the desired information. As you type, the results will display the matching excerpts highlighted in yellow, making it easier to quickly find the information within the document.
The content search works normally with the filters and tabs in the document list and prioritizes the document’s content. However, if there’s compatibility with other attributes such as author or properties, those documents will also be displayed.
⚠️ Current limitations
- Does not work for smart documents.
- There is no content search on the Activities screen.
- For scanned PDFs, only documents with up to 50 pages are searchable.
- Not available in the staging environment.
