🎯 Objective
With this new feature, you will be able to organize and view data more flexibly within Smart documents in netLex, expanding the tool's usage possibilities. Previously, Smart was limited to displaying information in cards (property groups shown in a single line), which wasn't ideal for all cases. This functionality was created to allow for more flexible data organization and visualization.

📝 What are Tables in Smart?
Tables are a new way to present and interact with structured data within netLex Smart documents. Before, Smart was limited to displaying information in cards, which are property groups shown in just one line. Now, you can view and edit data in a familiar tabular format, similar to a spreadsheet—ideal for cases that require more flexible data organization and visualization.
This integration solves problems such as:
- More flexible data organization and visualization: Allows complex information to be presented more clearly and organized, overcoming the single-line card limitation.
-
Expanding Smart possibilities: Paves the way for new uses of Smart.
⚙️ How to use the feature?
The Dynamic Tables functionality is available by clicking the "+" button.
🖥️ Adding and Viewing Tables
- In a Smart document, click the "+" button.
- Now, you can choose the tables option.
- If the table is wider than the Smart A4 sheet, a horizontal scroll bar will appear so you can view all the content.
⚠️ Rules to keep in mind
- If the table is wider than the Smart A4 sheet, a horizontal scroll bar will appear to view all the content.
- For now, if a property within a table is used to condition the appearance of another, the value of the last row of the table will be considered. In the future, netLex aims to provide ways to pull values from specific rows or row aggregators.
- In the questionnaire, table behavior is not yet different from card behavior. This means that when indicating a property in a Smart questionnaire, there will only be one field for the response, which will be inserted into the last row of the table.
💡 Next steps
This launch is a first step toward new uses for Smart. In the future, we will have more complementary features, such as the option to view the document in landscape mode, pin more than just the first column, read rows with a greater height, better questionnaire interactions, and other possibilities to customize your workflow. The team is open to suggestions for more use cases that may need additional features.
