This article contains the following sections:
📝 What is the Word Desktop Integration?
Now, netLex internal users can edit their documents in Word Desktop without needing to download or manually upload them. This integration solves issues such as:
✔ Alternative to the netLex editor: edit as you prefer without losing platform benefits.
✔ Direct real-time editing in Word: eliminate unnecessary downloads and uploads.
✔ Centralized control: avoid multiple document versions while a user is editing.
✔ Guaranteed security: permission control and single authentication.
⚙️ How to use the feature?
🔑 Enabling the feature
To use Word editing, the user must have the "Editing in Word" permission in netLex. It can be activated in Settings > Access Profiles, within the "Editing" section. This permission requires the user to already have access to "Direct Editing" in the netLex editor.
📝 Editing a document in Word
- From the top menu (three dots) or the bottom menu (cloud with a downward arrow) of the document, select the Open in Desktop (Word) option.
- A pop-up window will appear with warnings and editing rules.
- If desired, enable notifications to receive alerts when the editing time is about to expire.
- The document will open in Word, and you can edit it normally.
- Remember to save every 10 minutes to avoid locks and loss of changes.
- When closing Word, the edits will be automatically synchronized with netLex. 🎉
📩 Notifications
- After enabling notifications for the netLex page in your browser and Windows, you will receive a notification when the time is about to expire.
- When the time ends, another notification will be sent.
⚠️ Attention to rules
🔹 Only one user can edit a document at a time.
🔹 If more than 10 minutes pass without saving, the document will be locked.
🔹 The link with the questionnaire will be lost when enabling Word editing, just like in the Editor. This means that changes in the questionnaire will not be reflected in the document after editing.
