🎯 Objective
This article introduces the Workflow Step Search functionality on the activities screen, allowing you to quickly locate activities related to a specific step. You will learn how to use this search, understand its limitations, and discover the next steps planned for this functionality.
🆕 How it works?
It is now possible to search for activities related to a specific Workflow step using the free text search field on the activities screen.
⬇️ How the search works:
1. Priority for compound terms:
Activities with compound terms, such as "Contract Review", appear in the first positions.
After displaying compound terms, the search shows activities with separate words, such as "Review" and "Contract".
2. Priority for other relevant fields:
If the search term also exists in other fields, such as Title, Author, Responsible or Metadata, these fields will have priority over the Workflow step.
This means that activities associated with steps may not appear at the top of the list, depending on the search term used.
⚙️ Filter merge and text search
The combination of filters and Workflow step search has some limitations:
The merge with filters does not work for the Metadata filter.
The functionality is in transition to full use of Elasticsearch, which will allow for greater integration in the future.
