🆕 What is the version comparator?

The version comparator allows you to compare two versions of a document in .docx format, showing the changes made between them. With this tool, you can view the modifications made by reviewers and, if you have permission, save the comparison as a new version.

Main use cases:

• See the main changes made to a draft reviewed externally.
• Compare different versions of a document in an extensive negotiation process.
• Quickly identify changes made by different reviewers in a contract.
  
  
  

⚙️ How to use the version comparator?

In the document, access the right sidebar menu and click on Document Versions.

Select the two versions you want to compare:

• The first will be the "original" version, used as the base.
• The second will be the "compared" version, showing what has been changed.

Select the option to compare documents. The system will inform you what happens to documents with tracked changes. After clicking on compare, you will see the changes between the two versions.

📌 Tip: If you have permission, you can also click on Save as version to store the comparison as a new version. This permission is available in the "Documents" section.

❓ Frequently asked questions

1. Does the order of version selection matter?
Yes, the first version selected is the base for the comparison. The second will show the changes, such as text additions or deletions, compared to the first.

2. Can I accept the changes before saving the new version?
Not yet, but this is planned for a future update.

3. Does it work for other formats like .pdf, .doc, or .odt?
No, this functionality is exclusive to .docx documents.
