Frequently asked questions and their answers.
- I had problems installing Lex-in, what should I do?
Read the article “Lex-in installation issues” for more information.
- What to do when the message “Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. Maybe you don't have the proper permissions to access the item.” shows up while installing Lex-in?
In this case, we recommend that you check your antivirus settings if it is possible to disable it for a few minutes and try to download it again. In other cases, the file may be blocked by Windows itself. To check and unlock the file, right-click the locked file and select Properties, then under the "General" tab, select Unlock if the option is available.
- When I click to install, the message “Windows has protected your PC” appears. What to do?
In this case, you must click on "More info" and then on "Run anyway". You will then be able to continue the installation as normal.
- What to do when the message “This document cannot be edited because it is locked in read-only mode. Lex-In will be disabled until the document is released for editing.” shows up in Word?
This error can occur because of the document permissions or due to installation issues. We recommend that you check if the document is enabled for editing, if not enabled. If it is enabled for editing and the error persists, follow the steps in the article “Lex-in installation issues” to solve your problem.
- The Lex-in tab disappeared from Word. What happened?
When the document is in read mode and an attempt is made to change it with Lex-in, Lex-in is then disabled until the document is released for editing. If your Lex-in tab in Word has disappeared, you must access the “Files” option on the menu at the top of the screen, then access “Options” on the side menu, and then you must click on “Add-ins”, and then “COM Add-ins” and then check the “Netlex Plugin Office Developer” option.
